The 4-day India International Hospitality Expo begins at Greater Noida

The expo witnessed a massive attendance on Day 1. Inaugurated by Shri B.B. Swain the expo saw India’s top hospitality leaders including Chef Kunal Kapoor.

The 4-day India International Hospitality Expo 2022 was inauguratedat India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida by Shri B.B. Swain, Secretary MSME, along withRakesh Kumar, Chairman IEML and Mercy Epao, Joint Secretary MSME with support from the entire hospitality fraternity.

 The event has been supported since its inception by the industry stalwarts such as Chef Manjit Gill, Chef Davinder Kumar, Amarjeet Ahuja (PPFI), Nitin Nagrale (HPMF) and the inauguration of the fifth edition was no exception. In addition to the representatives from industry bodies, Celebrity Chef Kunal Kapoor also came to support his fellow chefs and hoteliers.

 In the words of Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML), “Our vision is to bridge the gap between the MSME players and hotels, restaurants and resorts business. IHE as a platform is tailor-made for the small and medium entrepreneurs and has been recognised as such by the MSME ministry as well as the ministry of tourism, ODOP (One District, One Product) Programme by the Government of UP. It has also been approved by NSIC (National Small Industry Corporation) and the Export Promotion Council for Handicraft (EPCH).

 “IHE is much more than an exhibition, it is also a knowledge hub for professionals engaged in the food and hospitality sector, which is evident by the extensive conclave program designed as a part of the IHE Conclave.” he added.

 “Yesterday we achieved the landmark of 1 crore registrations for MSME, which is quitean achievement for us. Out of that, close to 20% belong to hotels or hospitality.”, added Shri B.B. Swain, reinforcing the support for the expo. 

 The IHE Conclave hosted hospitality leaders such Greesh Bindra (Vice President (Operations), The Suryaa New Delhi), Anirban Sarkar (General Manager, Radisson Blu, Greater Noida), Sharad Upadhyay (General Manager, Crowne Plaza, Greater Noida), Shrikant Wakharkar (General Manager and Area Vice-President (North), Hyatt Hotels), AbinashManghani (CEO, WelcomHeritage),Ramit Sethi (Founder, Seclude), Mehul Sharma (Founder & CEO, Signum Hotels & Resorts) Ravitej Nath, (Director, Karma Chalets, and Director and Corporate Chef, Spice Lab Tokyo) and many others.

 The Indian Culinary Forum (ICF) also kickstarted its 3-day Young Chef Culinary Challenge which saw hundreds of young hospitality students showcase their culinary art.

 With a packed Day 1, the expo is all set to welcome more interested guests and industry professionals over the next 3 days.
