GBU is gearing up to collaborate with Taiwan

An official Mr. Peters L Y Chen, Director, Education Division, Ministry of Education, ROC Taiwan who is attached with Taipei Economic and Culture Centre (TECC), New Delhi has visited GBU with the aim to familiarize GBU students with Taiwan’s job market, education system and society. In a world racing to achieve advancements in technology and science, education will be a key factor moving forward. 

He was welcomed by the Vice Chancellor Prof Ravindra Kumar Sinha and Director, International Affairs. During the interaction, Mr Peters Chen has informed the Vice Chancellor that Taiwan’s TECC has signed MoUs with a good number of educational institutions in India for teaching Mandarin where it has either set up or signed MOUs to set up Taiwan Education Centers (TECCs) and he is interested to have one with GBU as well. He informed us that through these TECCs will provide information regarding studying in Taiwan, available scholarships, internships opportunities, and so on. 
Prof Sinha has shown willingness to go for collaboration with TECC on areas of interest like Science and Technology with focus on Drone Technology, Photonics, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and automation, Industry 4.0 technologies, Nano Science and technologies, etc. along with Buddhist Studies. He further says that the internationalisation of higher education is talk of the town these days after implementation of the recommendations of NEP-2020. 

This collaboration will open the doors for students as well as faculties in providing international plateform and scholarships and other avenues to excel in the their field of interest and expertise.
Prof Sinha said, ‘With the aim of the NEP 2020 to encourage international academic collaboration, the collaboration between GBU and TECC will act as a bridge between Indian Universities and their counterparts in Taiwan’.
